The American Physical Therapy Association is attempting to brand a key goal of physical therapists with the catch phrase “PT in Motion.”
While in China recently, I discovered they have some cool ways to help folks there get and stay in motion. But think about it, many people in China ARE active. Heck, nearly everyone walks at least a mile or two (or many, many more) a day, or rides a bike, not to mention the number of stairs that some people have to climb. Obesity there is rare!
As I mentioned in my last post, there are many exercise parks scattered throughout China. In fact, I came across these parks in the three main cities I toured, including Kunming, Nanchang, and Guangzhou.
Take a moment and check out these pictures. Remember, these parks are free to use. And consider this. The heat index when I was there was over 100 degrees, along with humidity greater than 85%. Simply taking these pictures ramped up my sweat glands and required that I take yet another shower. And yet the equipment was nearly always in use.
