On Sunday, March 28th, Angela Listug, DPT and Brace Hayden, DPT presented ideas and exercises to prevent low back pain to the Runner’s Edge Marathon Training Groups.
The presentation included: core exercises, proper stretching form, and balance exercises to improve strength and mobility in the spine and pelvis. This is particularly helpful as people ramp up their training miles.
In addition, they consulted with many runner’s on the various injuries that were already creeping up. For the past three years Alpine PT has presented to the running group on various running injuries. Click here to see the handouts from the last three years.
Would you like to know more about reducing the risk of injury with running? Angela Listug-Vap , DPT and Kristi Moore, PT will be presenting “Cross-Training from a PT Perspective” at the Good Food Store on Monday, April 12th at 6pm.
This is a free presentation directed at runner’s training for endurance events, like the Missoula marathon. Wear comfortable clothing and be prepared to try a few new exercises.
See you there!
