People used to think fibromyalgia wasn’t real. We now know better. Just a decade ago, I’d get prescriptions to apply TENS and exercise to people with this challenging condition.
These days we know better. One of the key factors to know is that people with “fibro” respond differently to exercise. Their muscles react to one repetition as though they’d just done 10 repetitions. This must be taken into account when designing a proper exercise program for this population.
There are a host of other items to consider, which I’ll cover in future blogs on this topic. For now, get more information from the document on my clinic website called “A Patient’s Guide to Fibromyalgia” by clicking here.
