Here’s another handful of helpful tips from Cheyene Rivers, owner of Missoula’s resource for office ergonomics, ErgoWellness.
Let’s get moving! When seated at a computer it is important to have good posture and to feel totally relaxed in your shoulders. Keep things within easy reach. Place your mouse close to your keyboard, and make sure your keyboard is not positioned up to high. This allows your shoulders to relax.
Consider purchasing a wonderful chair that fits your body. You may want to try alternative chairs such as the “Hag” (available at Office Solutions in Missoula, MT). You actually straddle this fantastic chair. In this way, you’re able to position body weight forward with your chest open, thus opening your shoulders and back. Another approach is to sit on an exercise ball or Dyna disk to increase core strength.
